1. Introduce Voguing Dance.
Voguing dance started from ‘Ballroom’ which was from LGBQ culture in Harlem, New York. The earliest form of voguing was like a fashion show influenced by ‘VOGUE’, a fashion magazine. So it was like a walking down the runway at a fashion show. Later, it was gradually established as a voguing genre in the forms of ‘Oldway’, ‘Newway’, and ‘Vogue femme’, which showed performances.
‘Ballroom’ is a little bit different from general battles. It is a culture rather than a battle. In particular, ‘Ball’ mostly has a variety of categories. The more distinctive feature is that each ‘Ball’ has concepts and dress codes in each categories (Examples of concepts: ‘Hell’, Oldway dress code-‘Cerberus’, Vogue femme dress code: ‘Devils’). We can also see Runway, Face, Body, Realness, Best dressed, etc, as subcategories.
The features of each category are judged on the basis of clothes, props, make-up, the shape of face and body, and the understanding and quality of dress codes.
